In anticipation of improvements to the Doctor Who series (on the part of writer Steven Moffat), this Doctor Who wallpaper offers you a brand new Doctor Who logo.
I'm not entirely anticipating Matt Smith as the new doctor, however, I believe in Moffat's writing and have my fingers crossed he'll take the series back into a direction that actually breathes a more self-serious tone. I felt that he did an excellent job of doing this whilst writing in-between R.T.D.'s childish camp... so I'm feeling a little eager to see what comes of the show.
Plus, the TARDIS interior is getting a revamp, and that's cool as hell!!
Speaking of which, stay tuned for a new TARDIS wallpaper, as well as a TARDIS PSD resource.![]()
The logo was all done entirely stock free, using various sources for reference. I tried very hard to keep the very nice look of the "2005" logo, while adding in something a little more grim. I think the more 'worn sci-fi' look plays to that nicely, but more importantly was adding the backing to the eyelet/ellipse. Changed the tone entirely! And you know, I LOVE that font for this logo. Yum.
Anyway, Enjoy!![]()

man, that's a brave attempt to try your skills on something that's already become some sort of a legend.
the intro to each episode is soooooooooooooooo epic and sometimes i'm whistling the tune even for a few days.
technically your work is brilliant again.
however, i have my issues comparing it to the original which -with all due respect- is already second to none.
but who gives a shit actually?
it's a great artwork you've accomplished there.
And yeahhhhhh!!! I've actually got the soundtrack to Tennant's first season. When I start to miss the show during it's long summer break, I play the theme. lmao. I'm a fucking nerd to the core, I tell you.
Which was your favorite logo over the length of the series?
however, the doctor has only caught my attention some 2 or 3 years ago when it was aired with the ninth doctor (chris ecclestone, which btw is my favourite incarnation so far) and appeared all new and polished if compared to the older episodes.
so frankly speaking, i think i only know the one and last logo of the show which i never had the need to compare to anything else.
so, since it's the only one i know i could honestly say that it's my favourite.
guess what...
...i stopped watching the show after episode 10 ("silence in the library" ----> count the shadows !!!) of season4 just to make sure that i would not be running out of fresh and unseen doses to somewhat quench my addiction.
so, if for some reason i might face a situation where i would need it the most, ...i'd still be able to watch something all new to me.
although rumors have already spoiled the upcoming pleasure a bit, because i was told that the doctor and rose would meet again and that it's not really fun to watch.
also the idea of having another doctor towards the end of the series makes me somewhat hesitant to watch the remaining episodes.
my shrink would say that i'm not ready to say goodbye yet. hahaha.
I liked Chris's performance, too, and it definitely drew me into the show. It took me almost the entire season to get used to Tennant when he first showed up. I'm good with him, now, I think!
Uhm... I don't know about how you'll react when you find yourself watching the rest (at whichever point you do), but I strongly feel that RT Davies moving on from the show is a VERY good thing. He had me quite angry about a few things along the lines. However, I'll wait until you're all caught up to see what you think.
