----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SUPPORT MY ART. DOWNLOAD. COMMENT. FAVE. ~A n d - P l e a s e - D o n t - S t e a l - M y - W o r k~
Update: Jan. 11, 2013 Due to the outrageous amount of theft, misuse, and violations against my copyright and Creative Commons license, I've put the Drive Mastery wallpaper packs that were freely available into storage.
It is extremely unlikely that I will ever make them available again.
I'm wholeheartedly disappointed in how many within the public can show such a huge amount of disrespect to me, my art, and the very few requirements I have on my art.
I will no longer be giving permissions for the use of this piece under any circumstances outside of personal use.
You may use this for your personal PC or Laptop Wallpaper, Nothing else.
If you're representing a business entity, please see my journal for my Agent's contact.
If I find that you are hosting this wallpaper on your website with any kind of modifications that have not been approved by me, I will not only attempt to have your website suspended but I will also alert my attorney (Yes, I've had to get one just because of this wallpaper) and prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law.
My apologies for firm hand, but people's disrespect for my work has reached an all time high and I'm done pussy footing around about it.
I can't even remove this wallpaper because it's now the only proof I have that I'm the original author outside of the PSD... leaving me stuck in this very vicious circle.
Thanks to all the inconsiderate people out there who've taken away any love I have for sharing my work online. You're really ace, and I hope I nail every single one of you.
it is quite sad but u know not a lot know the golden rule of the art world. they grab it from a wallpaper site and edit it the way they like and then post it. heck i never even knew this one wass yours until now but i've seen it in a lot of versions on different wallpaper sites. sorry bro. yer right putting it in storage would be probably be best
Sadly it's been out since 2008. By now, these wallpapers are easily found just about anywhere from so many re-shares. So putting in storage is only hurting me because this is my only proof of original upload on the internet... hence the catch 22 I'm stuck in with it. Can't take down, hate leaving it up.
And I agree, it's very sad that most people don't know (or consider, is a better word) how artists might feel about using their work carelessly. But I think a lot of that is because the vast majority of "sharing" websites don't care, which basically sets the climate and line of thinking. Someone see's it on some random wallpaper site and likely assumes the site itself is responsible for its creation, and since the site says "free" they assume they can do as they want. Multiply that by even a quarter of the internet and now you've got the ingredients for a culture who's only real concern is what they can get for free, what they can do with it wit very little actual artistic investment, and how much popularity they can gain by silently re-upping it as theirs.
It really speaks of the thoughtlessness that rampages the world with the coming of the internet. How simple it is to evoke whimsey without repercussion. Because these actions would never be taken if this was sitting in a art gallery on a physical print. But here? Oh, it's just a picture on the internet... let's do whatever we want and at the end of the day my real life is unaffected because I have a power switch. It's kinda lame.
Thanks for your understanding (and listening to me bitch for a second, lol). I greatly appreciate it!
I probably won't. But if you're interested in having another color that was previously available, you're welcome to send me a note. This way I'll have a log of who has which.
oh okay... well I still have all colors... but I'd give you credit anyways in case I'll use one in a screenshot one day... If you insist, I can also leave a comment on one of those two versions if I used them...
I agree. I'll never stop making stuff, but I'm definitely less inspired to share new art.
The unfortunate aspect to all of this is that these thieves are really forcing us into a corner. We're either going to have to give up, or start being more proactive with how and where we decide our watermark/signature placement. While I don't personally mind marking my art in a more visible place, I understand that the people who want to use my work don't prefer to see watermarks/signatures "obscuring" the art. Tit for tat, I suppose.
I think the worst 2 things someone can do is take someone's art and A) remove the signature or B) modify/alter the art. It's a sad place out there for artists right now. Double that with picture-sharing kicking into overdrive in social networking sites, and triple that with mobile universe growing so fast.

I wonder if you gonna upload the other colors now that you've storaged the wallpaper pack...
