There's a reason why Valve's first person shooter,
Left 4 Dead, made Game of the Year... and it's also the same reason that Rox and I love it. It's the best game we've ever played. I'm in love with the intensity, the characters, the mechanics, the violence... it's brilliant. Even so, I hadn't really intended to make this wallpaper. Instead, I had challenged myself to simply build the Saferoom door, just to see if I could.
I did.
It isn't an exact copy---I took some deign license with it and made it mine---but it's a very good replica nonetheless. My goal was to use shape color and placement to make it instantly recognizable, while still giving it some tweaks and changes to keep it from being a copy. After that, it came out so nicely... that I just couldn't stop. Started adding in little frills to make it more fun---until I had made the whole damned wall, lol.
4 days later, and here is the result. Screenshots are a no-no, and the easy way out, kids. This was all hand-done via MUCH reference. You'll notice some differences in Sign shapes and fonts, as well as some similarities. As well, there's some interesting things on the wall. Some you'll recognize, others only my personal friends will, and others yet are wholly new.
