Have been spending what little free-time I have these days drawing. It's odd to come back to something you thought was left to wade in the past... but also gratifying to know I still enjoy it as much as I ever did. Perhaps more-so now that Photoshop is here to curb my old perfectionist angst.
The above is a rendition of Top Cow's 'The Darkness'. I had entered the contest recently but was strapped for time and couldn't finalize my usual process. So I thought I'd take the time now, for myself mostly, to finish the character at least.
(I didn't hold-back the line art into the colors on this one. I may come back and edit that later if it starts to bother me.)
This whole wallpaper is a nod to the modern version of the Darkness, as depicted in the recent comic volumes and video games. Personally I still love the classic look, and am debating quite extensively on redrawing him in his classic look to make a follow up wallpaper. We'll see. Anyhoo, as always--Enjoy!
